115. Deputy John Curran asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the value of illegal drugs seized by An Garda Síochána in each of the years 2014 to 2017 and for the first quarter of 2018; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18361/18]

Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Charles Flanagan): Information in relation to the value of drugs seized by An Garda Síochána is set out in the Annual Reports of An Garda Síochána. The Annual Reports for the years 2014 to 2016 are available on the website of An Garda Síochána (www.garda.ie). The information provided in the Reports is prepared on the basis of records maintained by Forensic Science Ireland based on the quantity of drugs analysed annually at its laboratory. With regard to the information sought in respect of 2017 and 2018, I have requested a report from the Garda authorities and I will be in contact again when that report is to hand.
