This Post-Implementation Review (PIR) for the Tobacco Plain Packaging Act 2011 and associated regulations0F (the tobacco plain packaging measure) assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of the tobacco plain packaging measure to meet its objective in order to determine if it is an appropriate regulatory intervention. It is set out in three Parts. Part I sets out the problem that was to be addressed and the objectives of the government action. Part II sets out the results of stakeholder consultation engaged in for the purposes of the PIR. Part III provides an assessment of the impacts of the measure on industry, government and the wider community more generally.
