Breath tests were carried out on 302 people and one person was arrested over the weekend in four mandatory alcohol testing checkpoints in Dublin.

More than 800 vehicles were checked by gardaí and along with the arrest ten road traffic offences were detected..

As part of Operation Artery, the emphasis of the checkpoints was to target drink driving through the use of mandatory alcohol testing along with detecting general road offences including use of seatbelts, vehicle lighting, tyre condition, driving licences, insurance, NCT and road tax.
