Effective commissioning is central to the delivery of drug treatment that meets local needs and is planned, integrated and strategic. The 2006/7 HC/NTA review assessed the provision and commissioning of drug treatment against key indicators to provide a benchmark of quality against which local drug treatment partnerships can improve the planning, procurement, management and performance management of drug treatment systems.
