Consumer Prices in May, as measured by the CPI, remained unchanged in the month. Prices on average, as measured by the CPI, were 1.8% higher in May compared with May 2011.

The most significant monthly price change was an increase in Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco (+1.2%). There was a decrease in Transport (-0.6%).

The main factors contributing to the monthly change were as follows: _ Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco increased mainly due to a recovery in prices for wine sold in off licences and supermarkets following the end of special offers.
