This booklet has been produced by Revenue’s Customs Service to allow you, the public, assist Customs in tackling smuggling, especially drug smuggling.
Drug smuggling is an international problem - the misuse of drugs is one of the great social ills of our time that affects individuals, families and whole communities. A critical element of tackling the problem is reducing supply - one of the four pillars of the National Drugs Strategy.
The Customs Service is tasked with the responsibility for the prevention, detection and seizure of controlled drugs at importation. We seek to enlist your help in tackling drug smuggling. You can assist Customs in combating smuggling by noting any unusual or suspicious activities in your area and contacting your local Customs Drugs Watch Officer immediately.
