This research study was funded by the Department of Health Policy Research Programme as part of the Drugs Misuse Research Initiative (DMRI) phase II – Research on understanding Treatment Experiences and Services (ROUTES). It is one of 10 projects focusing on areas related to drug treatment and aims to deliver research-based evidence to underpin the development and delivery of effective services and interventions in the field of drug misuse. The aim of the study was to explore interventions for children and families where there was parental drug misuse (hereafter referred to as PDM) in order to inform policy and develop good practice that would meet the needs of this vulnerable group more effectively.
