Much has been written in the mainstream media recently regarding the increasing popularity of ‘legal highs’. Some of these have been recently reclassified as Class B drugs, one of which is mephedrone (also known as ‘plant food’, ‘MCAT’ and ‘miaow miaow’), a sympathetic stimulant of the amphetamine family, which is usually taken orally or nasally.
