122. Deputy Catherine Byrne asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of drug addicts here; and if she will make a statement on the matter. 

123. Deputy Catherine Byrne asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of persons that are on the methadone treatment programme here; the cost of this programme in 2009; if these persons are encouraged to come off methadone after a certain length of time; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Health and Children (Deputy Mary Harney): As the Deputy's question relates to a service matter it has been referred to the HSE for direct reply.
