Dublin 12 Local Drugs Task Force (D12 LDTF) is one of the 14 Local Drugs Task Forces which were established since 1997 to facilitate an integrated local response to drugs issues in areas that were most effected by drugs misuse.

In line with other Local and Regional Drugs Task Forces the D12 LDTF were requested to undertake a strategic review and planning process to contribute to the new National Drugs Strategy 2009 – 2016. The strategic review involved a stocktaking exercise by the D12 LDTF which included the achievements of the Task Force to date, the gaps in services and future challenges. The D12 LDTF decided at this time to also carry out a comprehensive research of the prevalence and nature of drug misuse in Dublin 12. The services of Unique Perspectives were engaged and an extensive consultation process was undertaken.
