Focus Ireland. (1999) Out of house and home: needs analysis and resource provision for homeless people in Limerick. Dublin: Focus Ireland .

This book is a summary of research findings of a baseline study commissioned by Focus Ireland on the needs of people 'out of home' in Limerick City and the effectiveness of services to respond to those needs. The research was conducted by workshops and structured interviews with service providers by exploring challenges that currently face them. The report recommends priority of support to existing specialist therapeutic and support services, an increased range of sheltered voluntary housing/ hostels options, sufficient resources to develop adequate support services and resources to increase the volume of new local authority housing stock. The report also makes several local and national policy recommendations as well as education and training recommendations to support the needs of homeless people and to educate the public about homelessness.
