Outcomes measurement tool: attitudes & feelings - self-efficacy. ispublished: pub subjects: AH18 subjects: FE10-4-6 subjects: FN subjects: FP subjects: FR subjects: HZ26 subjects: JA8-2 subjects: LN subjects: LN4 subjects: LN6 full_text_status: public abstract: Clients are asked to imagine themselves in a particular situation and to rate their level of confidence (self-efficacy) to resist drug use in that situation. Each of the scale items represents a different situation in which a drug user might be tempted to use drugs. The DASES is a relatively brief and easy to use measure of self-efficacy. It is useful as an outcome measure because it has been demonstrated to predict subsequent drug use. There is evidence supporting the reliability and validity of the scale, although its use has been restricted to young multiple drug users (aged 16-30). date: 1991 date_type: published browse_by: Martin Garth W official_url: http://www.emcdda.europa.eu/html.cfm/index3627EN.html task_purpose: Unpublished doctoral dissertation, University of Toronto, Toronto. doc_order_by: 19 vol_subject_list: AH18 , FE10-4-6 , FN , FP , FR , HZ26 , JA8-2 , LN , LN4 , LN6 vol_subject_list_words: A Drugs and alcohol use, abuse, and dependence > Natural history of drugs and alcohol use > Drugs and alcohol recovery -- F Concepts in psychology > Skills > Coping skills -- F Concepts in psychology > Motivation -- F Concepts in psychology > Emotion -- F Concepts in psychology > Attitude and behaviour -- HJ Treatment method > Treatment outcome -- J Health care, prevention and rehabilitation > Risk and needs assessment > Risk assessment -- L Social psychology and related concepts > Social context -- L Social psychology and related concepts > Social context > Context encouraging drugs and alcohol use -- L Social psychology and related concepts > Social context > Context discouraging drugs and alcohol use vol_subject_list_words_last: Natural history of drugs and alcohol use - Drugs and alcohol recovery -- Skills - Coping skills -- Motivation -- Emotion -- Attitude and behaviour -- Treatment outcome -- Risk and needs assessment - Risk assessment -- Social context -- Social context - Context encouraging drugs and alcohol use -- Social context - Context discouraging drugs and alcohol use ace_words: Martin Garth W sticky: 0 home_hide: yes citation: Martin, Garth W (1991) Drug avoidance self-efficacy scale (DASES).
