Shiner, Michael and Newburn, Tim (1996) Young people, drugs and peer education: an evaluation of the Youth Awareness Programme (YAP). London: Home Office. Central Drugs Prevention Unit.

The Youth Awareness Project (YAP) in the London Borough of Newham can be seen as adopting a peer education approach to its drug prevention work with young people. This report by Michael Shiner and Tim Newburn presents an evaluation of that work, based on observation of workshops conducted by YAP volunteers and interviews with YAP salaried workers and volunteers and with young people in Newham schools and youth clubs.
