This report describes the work of the County Wexford Community Based Drugs Initiative (CBDI). The tasks of the CBDI are: to increase awareness of drugs in its catchment area; to develop strategies to reduce demand; and, to help local communities to identify and respond to local needs. The CBDI will also help the capacity of communities to address drug misuse in a collective way and to improve the quality of life of people affected by drug misuse. The report also identifies the agencies that the CBDI will be dealing with and describes in detail the work to be undertaken by the group's 2 drug workers.
