The Ringsend & District Response to Drugs was established in 1995. The group provides assessment and treatment to drug addicts, family support, community awareness education, and undertakes research on local attitudes and drug prevalence. In 2001 the Co-ordinator raised funds to purchase a building from which to administer the services provided. Between 1998 and 2001, 28 clients secured employment, 29 young people became drug free. In 2001 the project secured funding from FAS to provide a daytime stabilisation project. There is an annual graduation ceremony for addicts who have completed their treatment, and community members who undertake the education awareness course.
