45. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Finance the number of successful prosecutions obtained through the work of officials from the Revenue Commissioners in the area of cigarette and tobacco smuggling at Dublin Airport in 2013 and to date in 2014. [26351/14]

Minister for Finance (Deputy Michael Noonan): I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the number of convictions in respect of cigarette or tobacco smuggling, arising from detections made by Revenue officers at Dublin Airport, was 32 in 2013 and 24 in the period from 1 January to 31 May 2014.
