This document is a summary of data from the HRB National Psychiatric In-patient Reporting System (NPIRS) for 2009. Tables from the data are produced alongside this summary. These can be viewed in the list of tables from page 16 of this report.
The tables present socio-demographic (gender, age, marital status, socio-economic group), diagnostic, legal category and length of stay variables by national and regional (HSE) admissions, by national discharges and deaths, by hospital type and by child and adolescent admissions. Data for individual units and hospitals are presented by all and first admissions for catchment areas, age and diagnosis, and for discharges and deaths.
